SOCIAL SECURITY NUMBER ASSIGNMENT BY STATE
This list deals with the first digits in an SSN number and will tell you
what state is is issued in. It's an updated list. AS many different states
grew in popular, they ran out of SSN number blocks that had been
assigned to them by the federal government. So the federal government
issued those states new blocks of numbers to use. When you see more
than one block, you can tell which states have grown in the last 20 years.
